We Are Back!
Welcome back! It has been a fantastic first week back after Spring Break, and it has been great to see students return with energy, excitement, and readiness to learn. We hope you enjoyed the break and had meaningful time to connect and re-charge. As we settle back into our routines, we are focusing on reestablishing strong habits, clear expectations, and a positive learning environment for all. Consistency in attendance, sleep schedules, and daily routines plays a large role in helping students feel confident and successful at school. Students have also enjoyed the Spring weather! Thank you for your continued partnership and support; we’re looking forward to a strong finish to the school year together!
MES is running 2 different 5 day attendance challenges! The first one starts next week on Monday, April 13th and runs through Friday, April 17th. Make every day count!
The MES administrative and office team would like to thank you all for the calm response to the construction fire at MES today. While students were never in danger, the quick response of MES staff and first responders, combined with a few appropriate safety measures, enabled the school day to proceed with a very minor disruption to the flow.

Back for its eleventh year, the Virginia Lottery’s Thank a Teacher campaign encourages you to say “thanks” to your favorite K-12 public school teachers.
Now through May 8, send virtual thank-you notes to the K-12 public school teachers in your life, and they could win $2,500 from the Virginia Lottery and its partners at Brightstar and NPi. Additionally, the winning teacher’s school will receive $2,500 in supplies from The Supply Room!

Attendance Tip/Reminder: Avoid late-night activities on school nights — protect sleep so mornings are easier.
