Dear RCPS Families, Students, and Staff,
Due to a special election being held in Virginia on Tuesday, April 21, and because several Rockingham County Public Schools buildings serve as polling locations, adjustments have been made to the current 2025-2026 school calendar.
To minimize disruption to the school day and ensure the safety of students and staff, Tuesday, April 21, will now be designated as a Teacher Work Day, and there will be no school for students on that date.
Because of this adjustment, the Teacher Work Day originally scheduled for Friday, May 1, will now be a regular school day for students. May 1 will operate as an ODD Day (Elementary Day 5) schedule.
We appreciate your understanding as we make this adjustment to accommodate the election while maintaining a safe and productive learning environment for our students.
