REMINDER: RCPS Closed Monday for Holiday and Tuesday is a Teacher Workday (no school for students)

Attendance Makes A Difference!

Every school day is an important building block for your child’s learning. When students come to school every day, it helps them build relationships and stay connected to their classmates, builds strong routines, and helps students gain confidence in their learning. Even missing one or two days can mean missing key lessons, friendships, and fun moments that can’t always be recreated.

We appreciate your partnership in helping students arrive on time and ready to learn each day. Together, we can set our children up for success; one school day at a time.

If anyone is in need of reading resources or flash cards to practice facts, please reach out to Mr. Kirk at kkirk@rockingham.k12.va.us or Mr. Baker at dbaker@rockingham.k12.va.us.

Construction Update: Lantz Construction has confirmed plans for the first phase of renovation work within the building. There will be some significant changes as students return next week following the long weekend.  Outside construction will continue as foundation blocks will be installed next week on the Kindergarten addition near the loop.  Ground work will continue on the building addition off the 5th grade wing as well.

Other Announcements/Reminders from the MES Office:

Attendance Tip/Reminder: Avoid “Just One More Day” Absences: Missing one day often makes it harder to return the next; consistency matters.
