Week #37- May 19, 2025
MES had 183 students with perfect attendance during the May 10-Day Attendance Challenge. This is the best Challenge this year! That means that more than 70% of MES students attended every day during the ten day period. There were four classes that had over 80% during the challenge.
A special congratulations to Ms. Hensley’s first-grade class, Mrs.Howard’s second-grade class, Mrs. Simmons’ third-grade class and Ms. Sneary’s fourth-grade class! Well done everyone!
Ice cream and classroom rewards will be distributed this week.
I appreciate the attention that has been given to maintaining positive attendance habits this year by so many of the MES families. This is not just about numbers to me. The numbers are indicators, and these indicators mean that kids are at school and learning every day. As much as we would like to be able to make up for a missed day, there is no way to replace a day spent in the classroom, with the teacher and classmates, learning and growing together.
School success leads to life success, and it all begins with showing up!
Thanks for all you do to help support this very important aspect of our work.
Have a great week!!
