Week #22- January 27, 2025

The MES House Day on Friday was covered by the Daily News Record and WHSV. I appreciate the coverage and the opportunity to share with the wider community. If you have not already seen the report, check out the WHSV Article/Report. The report is very well written and effectively captures the purpose of the House system. If you have a chance, offer a personal thank you to our two partners, the Elkton Domino’s and East Rock High School Agriculture students. 

The positive energy of Friday afternoon will carry over into this coming week. The weather looks promising for a full week of school, the first five-day week since before the Winter Break. This will be a good week to re-establish routines and schedules that support academic, social and emotional well-being. If I can be of help in any way in supporting students, or you, please reach out.

• Attendance Tip: MES attendance has not been as strong in recent weeks. Illnesses are shared more readily when students are in classrooms for the full day and not able to get outside. Healthy hygiene habits can help. Washing hands, coughing or sneezing into a sleeve, maintaining personal space are effective ways to avoid sharing germs. Please review these with your child as you have the opportunity.
