Week #8- October 7, 2024
The MES school-wide fundraiser was a success and I am grateful for all who were able to participate. MES has only one school-wide fundraiser each year. The MES PTO, several community partners, and individual grade levels are able to raise money throughout the year to support the school. I appreciate the broad support MES receives and remain committed to being a good steward of the school’s finances.
This week is Virginia Farm to School Week. Here is how RCPS is including local sources for meals.
Other Announcements/Reminders from the MES Office:
MES will serve as a collection point for a local Toy Drive to support victims of Hurricane Helene in the western North Carolina region. A separate message with details is forthcoming.
MES Theme and Spirit Days 2024-2025- Monday, October 7 is a MES Spirit Day!
RCPS Announcement: All elementary and middle school students attending athletic events, including Friday night football games, must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Students are not to be dropped off at games and picked up after the event.

Attendance Tip: If your child is struggling with motivation to attend school, please let us know. The school counselor, a trusted teacher, or even the principal can help identify barriers and work to improve the connection with school.
